I just tried the trial of NZBvortex. It does seem to be quite a nice piece of software but it doesn't really offer me any benefits over SABnzbd.

Unison is probably the best alternative you're going to find on the Mac platform to be honest.

SABNZBd is amazing. If you want to pay for one then Unison is also very good
