NZXT Kraken X72 CAM

Does anyone know if you still need to log in to the NZXT CAM software with a Google or Noseybook account to get the full range of features?
Was thinking about getting a Kraken X72 until I read about the above.

Only recently ditched NZXT purely because of CAM. Yes you still need to log in, it's also a resource hog.

Guess I'm back being undecided between a Corsair h150i and a cooler master ml360r master liquid.

CAM is terrible , but there are two alternative programs you can use instead

https://github.com/KsenijaS/krakenx
both are free and non spyware

Thanks for those. I'm on the verge of getting a 360 AIO and in terms of cooling and looks the kraken was at the top of my list. Until I read about the spyware etc. Still not sure guess I need to read more into it. Its a real shame.

I ended up with an air cooler, a Noctua NH-D15S, very pleased with the results.

If I had known about how terrible NZXT were I would never have bought my X62
I might replace it with a corsair H150i tripple fan unit instead

You know you can run a NZXT AIO without CAM right? You just won't get the RGB lights on the pump...

...which you may or may not see as a advantage ;-)

Going to be honest. I quite liked their RGB implementation, which was why it was my preferred choice. None of this rainbow nonsense, but the static infinity look appeared a nice discrete appearance. Will have to see - delving into the whole world of fans, controllers and their respective ecosystems is new to me so need to factor all that into making a choice. As you can see I'm rocking an old school X58 setup so you can see Ive a lot to catch up on!!!
