O2 Broadband query

Just signed up to broadband with O2.

Don't know anything about their router/modem.

Will it just be a case of entering SSID and Password into my PC to connect to their router or is there any proprietary software/hardware involved.

Is the router just a rebadged Netgear or such like?

Any advice appreciated.

It's a rebranded Thomson Speedtouch.

It'll be pretty much as you described, no extra stuff needed.

There's proprietary software if you want it but there's no need. Just search for it, it'll be "o2wirelessboxXXXX" and the password will be in the packet with the CD.

They're set to WEP by default so I suggest you change that as one of the first things. The router interface isn't very intuitive though, might actually take you a while to figure out where obvious settings actually are (hint: don't forget the "Configure" button in the top right corner).
