Just moved over to these after being with Nildram for 2 years.

I was paying £25.99 a month with Nildram for upto 8mb + line rental.

Now I'm paying £7.50 (I get it a few quid cheaper because I have a mobile contract with them) a month with O2 +line rental.

Now so far the O2 service has been outstanding, no download caps, fast all day round, good pings and super fast download speeds compared to Nildram.

All I'm saying is I have no idea why I stayed with Nildram for so long with that extortionate price.

Anyone else use O2?

The price if you don't have an O2 contract is £14 (Be Value). Nildram isn't so extortionate - LLU saves on BT Centrals for one, and you can get capped (£19.99) or PAYG (£13.99) ADSL from Nildram.

Ordered Be (which is O2) Pro on a spare line I had kicking around, should get the BeBox early next week.

The price if you don't have an O2 contract is £18 (Be Unlimited). Nildram isn't so extortionate - LLU saves on BT Centrals for one.

Actually, at the moment if you dont have an O2 contract its £12.50 a month for the 8mb service

You quoted me before I'd edited what I said. :p
It's a special offer - £17.50 after the 30th April. It's still hardly makes Nildram extortionate (though £17.50 for up to 8Mbps versus £18 for up to 24Mbps from the same ISP doesn't look great)...

I'm grateful for the 8Mb option - I can't get any more than that anyway due to line length, and have had an O2 contract for a while. It was an easy decision to move from Be.

Only bad thing I have found so far is the o2 email address I have been given is banned on the forums?!!? What am I supposed to use for my forum email then?

Whenever I enter it in the control panel it says the email address is banned. My old one is fine though but I can't use it.

Looking forward to your views on the Bebox.

In the hour or so it's been up, it seems ok - other than being bloody hot
Ran a couple of torrents that maxed out the downstream, and it hasn't crashed.

On the other hand, I think the wiring in the new house needs looked at. With the faceplate (and two hardwired extensions, thanks NTL):

The BeBox isn't bad but you'd be better served with a netgear DG834GT or PN/etc. That said, if you get lucky with your BeBox you'll prob not feel the need to switch...*some* of them are okay.
