Amazing, I have been called today for over using their unlimited service.

The transfer for last month a massive 56gb.

Just a warning to anyone thinking of joining them, this was the Access product.

Its well known that the access product has this kind of usage allowance before they say something. The access product costs O2 money for using BTs systems... they simply cant afford to allow unlimited use with no fair usage policy.

Im on O2 pro ( LLU ) after moving from zen... in my opinion o2 have better overall reliability and customer service than even zen offered. Plus its a lot cheaper... £17 instead of £35 i was on before for 100gb allowance. With the LLU product there are ( so far ) no limits and no traffic shaping.

I have an unlimmited package from o2 for £14.99 a month and have very few problems.

So, i think evil is a bit extreme!

Nah evil is about correct.

On their own forums people asked the sales department before signing up that they were going to download 80gb and were told no problem. One month later the are being contacted for overusing the service.

Basicly its the access product that is at fault, and LLU one is decent.

another happy O2 customer here, no idea what package i'm on it's the 14.99 a month one. I've hammered my connection with steam and not had any issues.

sorry to hear you have, hopefully this is more an isolated incident and not a glimpse into the future of O2.

Its not isolated at all the problems on O2 access are very widespead, its just O2 have two different systems, if you live in a populated area they are great, otherwise they are one of the worst ISPs.

OK, I think I'm going to start blaiming BT for the bad wholesale product.

LLU here and never had a better service and speeds. Increased from a dodgey 3mb to 5mb and although that isnt great compared to many. I havent had any problems.

Plus my upload is nearly 1mb which isnt bad seeing as my download is only 5mb

I'm very happy with O2

Ive had the trouble with them ringing me up asking me to stop downloading as much, i simply replied let me out of the contract ( which i asked 3 months ago with an actual reason for leaving) and now they say its fine but i havent left yet, still waiting for another phone call! Not sure why they dont have a usage thing on there website to check how much you are actually using but ah well.

Ouch - that's a tiny amount

as when I rang up vm earlier - they told me on Tuesday I downloaded 68GB lol.

Is there a way you can buy like more traffic/ higher dl amount

It's the ill thought out Access product. There is nothing good about that service, and nothing you would expect of a normal BT ipstream reseller.

I don't see how the op can suddenly brand it evil, it's been all over the interwebz for months :p Google is your friend. Besides, unlike every other isp if you keep going over the limit they'll wave the rest of your contract and let you leave. That single reason puts it ahead of all the others.
