O2 Internet dongle thingy connectivity issue?

Agreed

I just got a phone call this morning from him...

He has bought another dongle but a G one this time.

Again, he is saying this and that about it sort of trying to conect... Im fed up and so I agree... The PC works perfectly fine. He is not willing to let me take the PC home to work on it in my own time and he is not willing to accept that he is using a cheap and nasty mobile solution to a non-mobile PC.

--- ADDITION ---

I would still like to know if it is possible for it to have killed the strenght of the USB ports?
Beause when I did it for him in his old flat ( last month ) while it gave a poor signal, it still connected and gave a fairly decent speed.

It keeps switching to ROAMING PROFILE
I will need to look this up and why it does it... Im assuming that its simply struggling to get a signal.

A 'G' dongle sounds like a standard wireless USB adaptor that connects to a wireless router and static broadband. He's prepared to throw money into a useless USB adaptor in this case, but not towards static broadband.

Be cruel to be kind mate, 'I cannot help you any further until you sign upto a normal landline broadband service' - he's currently not listening to a word your saying even though you're giving sound advice.

Sorry, no, when I said G... I meant 3

I simply got confused myself on that with Option 3 , just 3 and 3G

No, he has got a 3 dongle as well as an O2

Anyway, he phoned me up just half an hour ago.

he asked me to come and help him and I said that I would drop off a longer cable so he can move the dongle about, but he, in his usual way, expected me to come...

He phone up someone else now, but thankfully that other person said that it sounds like the dongle cannopt get a signal and they have both been moving the PC around the flat to geta signal and it does look like he is now able to connect partially at least.

I myself have now told him that I am no longer willing to help out unles he gets a proper setup and stops being such a skin-flint.

Thanks for all the help everyone... Even the moral support etc makes all the difference.

Thanks.
