O2 Network

Hi,

I am in London today and there is no O2 service at all.
I have done a quick check on the web and there is no offical notice, however people are reporting that there is no network service !

Any one got any info to why ! ?

Making calls and using data
We've got a problem that means you can't make calls, use the internet, or send/get emails in parts of East London, North London, east Sussex and Kent.

Well I can not complaine to much as this is the only time I can recall having a singal issue with O2. This was one of the main reasons why I have stayed with O2 as the singal has always be pretty good.

Any one know why the single is down ! ?

Woke up and had no signal in DA16 but by the time I got to London this morning my phone was fine all the way through Waterloo and fine in Staines so guess its just patches of Kent

No signal at all in Maidstone area, nor in Cranbrook/Tenterden areas in Kent.

Was all set to give O2 a call as my phone was saying my sim did not allow connection to O2 network....grrrr...I was already for an arguement about bill payment or something

Then heard it was a network error, which whilst annoying is not too much of a problem. i've been with o2 for years and this is the first time I've had any kind of issue like this!

I have not had any signal issues with O2 before.
So not a hardship that I can not use my phone for a while !

I did admire Jason Bradbury on the Gadget Show last night who had to perform tasks with Old School techniques.
Just shows how dependant we have become on technology !

I had a problem in the morning, east london, but got to work and it started working again, south london.

The issue is caused by the theft of cables and equipment, apparently should be back to normal by 16:00.

Vodafone have had a couple of incidents like this in the past year. I think the last one was caused by theft of network equipment from one of their datacentres.

Every time something like this happens, I wonder if it's network lockdown from terrorist threat or something...

Only because people on my Facebook were all complaining that their phones aren't working, cannot get any signal as the network was down.

It was only after a while I found out that it was 02 only.

On the net this morning people were posting that the O2 Network was down due to the bomb issue and the Queens visit ! ! !
How stupid,..if that was the case then all the networks would go down !
