well i think i'll go with BE pro and its its not a MASSIVE improvement on what i have now and theres no discount im going to migrate to o2 (cheaper), ive read that if i do that there is no notice needed and no cancellation charge because o2 own BE

happy days, so long sky :P lol

well ive just got my mac code from sky and signed upto BE pro , well tried , stupid halifax blocked my telephone banking but im sure that will get sorted today, now im just waiting for a comfirmation email from BE, they reckon i'll be up and running in a week

w00t :D

Just to bring this thread back from the dead I'm wondering about getting my parents to switch from BT to O2 as it's a heck of a lot cheaper and hopefully faster. A couple of questions though, I take it both the Premium and Pro packages are unlimited? And also, we are synced at 2Mbps with BT, what sort of speed would we expect with O2, I assume it would be faster?

I phoned o2 today to ask if they could put me on fastpath or change the interleave depth, they are point blank refusing to change anything, and ive tried phoning a few times to speak to different people.

Thats why i pay the extra £4 extra per month for Be instead of o2. I have since moved from my old place - it took 3 weeks to activate my line because i went through sky (got the free line rental for 12months deal) but should have my Be back on tuesday. According to them max speed should be 20mb :)

£4 extra per month???

O2 = £9.79, Be = £17.50... just being able to select fastpath is definitely not worth £7.71 in my book.

I emailed O2 and asked them to lower my noise profile to 3dB... they did it within a couple of hours & it bumped my speed from 15.0mbit to 17.3mbit :)

So at least they will do that :)

Did you get through to technical support for any of those? I've had them do many things before, such as switch annexes, change the signal noise profile. They do it without a fuss.

Amyone reckon its worthwhile switching to fastpath with this:

ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 14405 kbps 1304 kbps
Line Attenuation 32.0 db 18.1 db
Noise Margin 4.9 db 6.2 db

When I was with Be I didnt switch because i was told its only really worth it for those with lower attenuations.

You have a better connection that i do so worth a try. It's very simply to turn off and with Be but assuming you are with o2 you may not be able to get it done in the same way.
