hi if I buy an o2 contract but not got my pac code yet. when my contract with o2 is open can I still give my pac code when ever I want to get my old number transfered or do I have to give it when I open the contract from the start?

you can transfer a number whenever you want really :]

Not really, as far as I'm aware O2 operate a 14 or 30 (can't quite remember) day opening to which you can port a number from starting a new contract.

After that you have to stick with the provided O2 number.

yuppp.. o2 require the pac and old number on connection (as stated, a couple of weeks is probably allowed)..

some networks such as three allow the number to be transfered at any time in the contract

T-Mobile also allow the number to transferred at any time.

indeed, as i expect does orange as well. would be unusual for a single network to make such a big decision like this on their own.
