1. Have you ever been charged/throttled/told off for exceeding your monthly data allowance? By how far have you exceeded it?

2. Do you use your phone for tethering? How often have you done it? Have they ever raised a fuss about it?

3. Does your phone automatically connect to their wifi hotspots when it comes within range of one, or do you have to open a browser window and log in? (Asking cause I was planning to get a Spotify or We7 subscription, and obviously if I'm walking down the street listening to music it's not convenient if I have to log in manually)

Thanks!

1. No but then I don't have a monthly allowance.

2.yes quite often to connect my iPad to the net when I'm on the move....why would they complain?

3. Can't answer as I don use hotspots but from walking into my house every day it just connects to my wifi as soon as it gets a signal..

I didn't know you can tether a phone to an iPad to use as a modem! Not useful to me, but you learn something new everyday :)

Regarding 3. though I meant whether their hotspots are the type where you have to open your browser and you get navigated to their website where you have to sign in with a username and password before it'll let you connect (you know, like hotspots in Starbucks stores make you do for anyone that's used them) - I didn't mean log in using a network key, as obviously the phone would store that and use it automatically.

The Cloud (which o2 use for wifi) sites log you in automatically after you register once on the first one you connect to.

Ah, that's who they use? Used them on my netbook (only the free 20' a day though) and I do need to open my browser and log in ever time. Maybe they use a different ID process for phones though.
