o2 simplicity - am I reading this right?

was too late, she told me after she'd gotten in, her and her dad went and got a voda contract for 12months with a new phone and the same mins/texts for £30pm.

I'm on ths deal - 600 mins, 1000 texts and free unlimited web bolt-on. Very happy with it and it has revolutionised my mobile net usage. i just sit there on the train browsing. It's great :)

This seems very good but my girlfriend just rang me to tell her about her new contract, she has been battling with retentions all day and managed to get 800 anytime minutes, 1000 texts, unlimited o2 to o2 calls for £10 a month albeit on a 18 month contract! Very good deal though in all fairness so perhaps simplicity isn't quite as good as you can get.

Im also on Simplicity. I get 600 mins to any network plus unlimited to 02 and then 1000 texts. Think im paying £20 a month. I never use all the texts despite all the picture messages I send but do use around 15hours of calls.

I swopped from vodafone because they stopped including picture messages in my inclusive text messages and I was being charged loads extra.

Just signed up to this deal over christmas (incl. the quidco cashback too :D ). First time I've used the interweb on a mobile, quite good, even on a W810i.

Worth noting, if you're on an unbundled exchange (Be/o2) then you can also get your ADSL2+ for £7.30 ish through o2 ( £70 cashback through Quidco too :D :D ) rather than £13.50 through Be.

I've looked into this and was told the unlimited data was truly unlimited as long as it was only the handset used.

Of course I don't know how they'd police internet sharing on a windows mobile device :)

The £20 simplicity with free bolt on of unlimited data seems a storming deal to me. That's where I'm going in a couple of months aftre my orange contract ends.

I've spoken to Orange already and was told straight they don't do any consumer package with more than 250mb inclusive. Not much good for slingplaying!!

I've been given 500mb for £5/month when I got the touch hd through retention last week, others have manage to get it for no extra cost.
was looking the simplicity as was moving to o2 broadband, would get £5/month discount having mobile with them as well. ended up giving in and geting the touch hd from orange, got the broadband discount by using sisters' number(payg).

You can buy the new "iphone only" pay as you go sims which have 12 months free unlimited 3g bolt on for £20 on the net. You're only supposed to use them with iphones, but they work with others.

Obviously not direct from o2 but fleabay. The T&Cs do prohibit the use with a mobile other than an iphone, but no one I know has been told off yet. Also get £10 of credit. Don't use over 500 megs a month either.

Quite staggering that deal then :)

I've been playing with a few options as both the wife and myself will be shifting to pay monthly, I need a new phone whilst she has looked after hers, any thoughts on a decent phone for web surfing etc? (I'd love the iphone but SIM free is silly money IMO)

Well the best phone out there for web surfing is the HTC Touch HD, but if you think the iPhone is silly money then the touch...:p

Could those sim cards then be used in a mobile internet dongle, for internet on the move etc?

Ring Orange ask for your PAC. Buy a o2 simplicity sim. When the sim arrives fillout the online form on o2s website and your orange number will be ported.

Agreed. But with Simplicity I can walk away if I want to (find a better deal or lose my job, etc). With this deal you sign up for a year and a half. That's great if you want to do it but that's not for me.

So confused about what to do for my next phone aarg. Don't want to be tied into a £35 a month long contract, but I really want a 5800 ExpressMusic... It just seems bad value to buy it and put it onto Simplicity £20 a month... aaaa :/

Got mine the other day, just leave GPRS (HSDPA) on all the time now :) love it. Will never use all those mins or txts though.
