O2 tethering included in new plans.

I have the exact same stats as you in my 'My 02". Have you gone to try and get tethering added for free?

Nope, been busy with Uni assignments instead!

Also unfortunately the contract's in my mother's name (as I was 17 when it was taken out), so persuading O2 to talk to me is always a challenge!

You spoken to O2 yet?

Haven't called them. Hung around the 'Shop' page of their website for a while trying to get the Live Chat to pop-up, but it didn't happen.

I'll let you know if I do speak to them and how I get on. Although I do think it just depends who you speak to on what result you will get

Just found the right bit on My O2. Says that my minutes allowance is 600, [text] messages allowance is 1200, and UK data allowance is unlimited.

On http://shop.o2.co.uk/tariffs/simplicity/1_month I can't find an equivalent :(, most data is 1GB. I'd commit to 12 months if they'd keep my unlimited data and throw in tethering.

When I go to set it up it takes me into Safari O2 website and tells me about a Bolt on Option?

DO you have to phone up?....or am I missing something?

@Concorde Rules: Where'd you see/hear £3?

My contract now without 'free' tethering is £15.50pm with 500Mb allowance, WiFi, etc.

If I wanted to move to a contract where I get tethering 'free' I have to pay £18.50, and thats 100mb, no wifi, etc.

I think not somehow ;)

**** deal. Absolute muppet if you change from a contract now!

I'm still pleased I moved to Three.

I wish i held out a little longer before snapping up a 24 month contract again with O2...i hate their service.

When i was getting my iPhone 4 i said to the guy about Three and he was like "Their a budget network"...i was like, WTF does that mean!?

It's worked out quite well for me.

Last June I went for a 24 month contract at £30 per month with 300 minutes, unlimited text and unlimited (which went down to 500MB in October) data. With the VAT changes this went up to £30.64.

Over the past 10 months I've not used more about 300MB of data in any month.

Switching to the new tariff I now pay £32 a month (so £1.36 extra) get exactly the same minutes/texts/data but also get 20 MMS and tethering enabled. This essentially now means that I have paid a little bit more and I can use my netbook with my iPhone on the few occassions when I'm out and about and would prefer to use my netbook to browse t'interweb.

:)

Well, I was on Simplicity 20 (£20 for 600 min, unlimited text, unlimited data, no tethering). I never make more than 20-30 minutes of calls, 100-ish texts and never more than around 300Mb in a month. Add to that on my 3G iPad I still haven't used up the free £10 I got when I signed up to Orange's pay-for-what-you-use plan over a year ago.

I'm now on Simplicity 100 (£10.50 for 100 min & 500 text) with the All-rounder data pack (£6 for 500Mb data and tethering).

So I'm paying less for service that still more than meets my needs and, on the rare occasion I'll want to do so, I'll be able to tether my Wi-Fi only iPad 2 (which has already saved me £100 :)).

Count me as happy :)
