O2 upgrade / retentions

They will be nice if you dont take a new phone, but i cant see you having much luck this year. I got them to knock £15 off my contract last year aswell this year i get nout.

I'm just getting to the end of a 18 month / £25 contract on a XDA-miniS. I phoned up retentions today and asked if they could improve on my 250 anytime minutes /100 texts .

I was put on hold for a couple of minutes then was offered 500 anytime minutes + 0 texts (I had told then I only send about 10 texts a year...) + a nice new XDA Orbit for £39.95.

Just had a look at online auction site and I can flog the Orbit for £190 upwards so I think I'll have the minutes , keep my miniS and flog the Orbit.

Unless I find a better deal in the next 29 days :D

Thats why renentions are changing.

my o2 retentions upgrade was terrible this year, but i ended up going onto staff contract, which is brilliant, 1000 messages, 1000 anytime minutes, 75mb browsing, free N95, all for £20p/m

Surely its upto 900min + 900txt?

Month 1 - 300m / 300txt
- Roll Over Month 1
Month 2 - 600m / 600txt
- Roll Over Month 2
Month 3 - 900m / 900txt
It's two months worth of allowances, i.e. 2 x 300 of each, not two months of rolling-overness. I should have worded it better.

:o lovley! which co you work for, how many contract can you get us lot?

well my 3g contract has just finished i was paying 45pm, initially told them to put me on payg as i wanted to wait for better handsets as i currently have a 850i which i brought of ebay a couple of months ago and am really happy with, they have now given me

300 xnetwork anytime minutes
150 texts
25 mms
15 video call minutes
£5 downloads per month

all for an amazing price of £5 per month no cashback rubbish, over a 12mth period i think i got this deal due to the fact i did not want one of their handsets still cant complain.

I told o2 to cancel both my contracts and they told me that i could have 100 mins and 50 txts free for 12 months and that it wont cost me a single penny.... no cashback or redemption.... i found this quite wierd but it seems to be working fine.

Yes, they do thing thing these days where they credit people's mobile phone accounts with £300. They are then put on a £25/month tarrif with 200 mins and 20 text or so. The line rental works out free for the year, provide you dont go over your allowance or use any chargable features.

The mobile phone market is getting highly commpetitive. I suggest you shop arround before you place any orders!

You got ripped off ;) , i got the same deal for £2 a month with 1st 5 months free!!!

Just gave O2 retentions a last call before I switch to T-mobile and the silly **** ****** from the "expert" dept tried to convince me that my XDA miniS was a 3G phone so I didn't need an upgrade , I got a very grudging apology when she re-read the manual :). She then went on to tell me that the O2 Trion was completely different to the Vario II and was much higher spec

I could stay with O2 or save £300 and go to T-mobile , hmmmmmm

:p to O2 I think .

ABSOLUTELY USELESS

Spoke to some woman who sounded quite dim tbh and wouldnt listen to anything i said. All she kept quoting was the simplicity price plans. I made up that an orange shop nearby had quoted me £25p/m for 500 mins + 600 texts and a free w880i and i want my PAC code as its a better deal that i have now or will be able to be offered by O2.

*She keeps repeating the simplicity tarriffs are the only price plans atm*

So she didn't even want to negotiate of renew my current deal. I also explained that the orange deal is better because of the magic number so i could call my MRS for free whenever. She didn't even go away and try to sort something out as i told her that wasn't good enough for a customer of over 3 years with a total spendage of nearly £1000.

Then told me we could cancel now or go away and think about it. I said that i was going to go sort out the orange deal and will call back to cancel.

Looks like im gonna try again tomorrow and hopefully get a better person !

300mins 400txt for £15 a month with a free w610i (i think!) on a 12 month contract.

Seeing i never go over my minutes (use 250 max) I was going to buy a PAYG w810i for £80 and then use top ups but this way for basically £8 a month extra (£80 Phone /12 Months = £6.66 - £15 = £8 odd) I get 300m/400txt!

I could have got a slightly better deal with CPW or even one the the CPW online sites but this way no need to worry about sending off bills so I'm happy

Write spoke to a great guy the day after and he sorted me out:

SAme contract as this year for 12 more months:
500 anytime x-net mins (+3 months rollover)
900 texts
FREE SE w580i (just come back into stock... tooot)
£25pm

It's great as il sell the w580i in its sealed box for ~£150, making my line rental equivalent to about £12pm

:D:D:D

I tried to cancel as my 12 months were up. I was told to email [email protected] but so far my emails keep bouncing with failed to reach host.

Retards. Its like they are trying to scam another month out of my line rental...

Go for Virgin Media mobile! I pay £10 a month for a no minimum term contract that gives me 300 free minutes (any network) and 300 free texts. If I don't use them all in one month, they roll over to a maximum of two months' worth in total so I get up to 600 minutes and 600 texts.

I love it :)

I was going for this deal today but virgin's computers were down.
Just to add, you need to be an existing virginmedia customer to get the above sim-only deal:
