o2 Upgrades - Bad news for some

Insurance companys fraud people enough..

How exactly have you come to that conclusion?
An insurance company like any other company is there to make money.
They don't "fraud people" they attempt to not pay out - in the same way that if I was involved in a car accident that was 100% my fault I must not admit to being at fault.

If you are insured correctly for an item then you don't have any problem at all with insurance company's.
The only people who seem to have issue or problems with insurance company's are those people who either aren't correctly insured, are trying to pull a fast one or haven't read all of the small print (or normal size print) before signing documents.

However when people blatently go out of their way to defraud insurance company's guess who lose out?
Everyone - because they can no longer take your word or trust you that what you are claiming for is legitimate.

Luckily I renewed my contract last week, got a free K750i & Motorola bluetooth headset and they reduced my contract by 50% per month as well.

Next year I will probably switch to someone else, was going to go with T-Mobile before o2 offered me this deal anyway.

i haggled £5 a month off (so upgraded to the package above for free) and got £50 off the phone because they were mucking me about :)

MW

This is a shame if this is true. Ive just upgraded 3 phones from o2 and got the following:

500mins/400texts £10 per month with Free E900
1000 offpeak mins/1000texts £5 per month with free E900
200mins/500 texts for £15 per month with free 6233

Hope i can get similar deals next year!

Just bad *personal* experiances.. not going into detail.

That is pretty good deal there, they offered me 200 mins/500 text for £15 per month on my two phones but charging me £49 for the d900, not taken it yet so will have to fone back and try for a better deal.

a work colleague of mine upgraded yesterday on O2.
free K800i, 500 mins and 300 txts, £15/month.

damn good deal IMHO.

I dont understand, im getting ripped of big time. When my contracts up for renewal ill see what they have to offer.

I pay £30 for 200 xmins and 500 texts, and i payed £50 for my phone upgrade, were as it was free to new customers... very dissapointed.

i was on the online 200 tariff offering the same as you currently get.
after chatting to the retentions dept. i got a free handset and 1000 texts/400 mins for the same £30/month.

well as of the end of the month i will have left o2. last year i got half price online 200 and a subsidised exec, with an average bill of £27 (over the £15 i was paying for line rental) and all they could offer me was an exec for £300 (old one broke and insurance refused to cover) or £100 off my bill and no phone. no tariff offers or anything. pac code will be requested.

Phoned up to cancel today,

They asked me what I was looking at LG Kg920 500mins 500txts for £23 a month on orange 18months.

They offered 500mins, 500txts and a fee K800i for £25 but only 12month contract. Still declined as I really want the kg920..

So they're still doing some good deals.

currently on 400minutes and 1000texts with O2, my contracts up next month, as hoping to get down to £25/month from the current £30 and a nice new handset, might give them a phone before its up!

But that onestopshop thingy is looking nice with deals, just they dont include texts :\

ye you should get that im on 400/1000 for £30 + new phone, but i never tried hard this time, had too much hastle last time.

Even though there prices go up to add services no1 ever uses, in real terms its getting cheaper for them to provide the basics, so keep fighting the prices down!

currently on Online 100 and my 12 months was up a couple of months ago. im going to phone them tomorrow and get onto their retention dept.

luckily (or unluckily) my last few bills have been WAY in excess of £40 never mind my £25 basic...

i want a K800, and double everything for 25 squid, or im off!

just phone up and say you want to cancel. They ask what you have seen say

500mins 500 texts lg kg920 for free on orange for £23.

They should offer 500/500 with a free k800i for £25 but only a 12month instead of an 18month contract

dont think this is true as I rang up yesterday and they offered me 500 mins 900 texts for £20 a month and £50 off any handset and my monthly bill is only about £25 usually.

wow that's a good deal.

Recently left Three to go to Voda after being with them for 15 months and paying £30 pm.

When I phoned 3 to cancel, they offered me K800 and tried telling me that it did everything an N80 could do and was a better phone. When I said that I wanted an N80 they said it would cost me £125 and that was the best they could do and that I would have to stay on my current tariff for the next 18months (600mins, 150 txtx - I think).

I then told them that Voda were offering me a free N80 700mins and 100 texts for £35, they suddenly came back with an offer of a free N80, 900mins and 200 txts, even though their previous offer was the best they could do.

I cancelled anyway as I was getting fed up with their call centre staff not being able to understand me, or me them.

The moral of this story is shop around, know what you want and persevere until you get it.
