O2 Wireless box II - where can I check my line details?

On my router settings it says that I should be getting Up/down of 1,213 / 6,979

I am currently getting more like 500-900/5200-6000

I contacted O2 and they said that I could get 8mb (Which is good for me, never been over 6mb ;))

Where can I check to see line details to see if there is any issues?

Ok they say I should have a higher setting but the support woman doesnt seem to know what she is talking about and is obviously reading from a script(Although she is helpful and friendly).

I think she increased something on there. I thought she said she increased the noise, shouldnt she reduce the noise? Or is she talking about something else?

The up/down on the router is now: 1,010 / 5,456

After her changes. What can I tell her to increase it?

It's possible they've increased the target SNR margin. You'd typically do it if the connection was unstable.
It should have been reduced, but it's possible they won't reduce it below the default 6dB.

Without the actual stats (instructions here are apparently for the O2 Box 2) from the router this is pure guesswork though.

Well they have reduced it again and i have 1300/8172 (up/down) at the moment. I am going to give it a few hours to see if it holds.

Any programs that I can run to check the stability without constantly watching the computer?
 
If you haven't changed it, the password should be the serial number under the O2 Box.

If you have and can't remember it. Reset your O2 Box so the password resets to the default serial number.

Tried that. Is the username just Administrator?

Able to log in normally but not to get my line stats with that link.

Your stats look good. Your SNR is at 3dB, if you experience regular re-syncs contact O2 and ask for a 6dB profile.

Are you connected to the main socket?

Yes to master socket. Ive never had above 5mb before so this is a nice experience ;)

Whats a 3db and 6db profile?

No drop outs yet for past hour

What is interleaving by the way andwould it benefit to have it off/on in my situation?

It's the profile for Signal to Noise Ratio, 3dB gives you faster speeds and less of a stable connection unless you have a really good line. 6dB is the standard profile and works best for most users and anything above that is to stabalize your connection while sacrificing speed.

The drop outs usually occur in the evening.

Interleaving is error correction for your line which highers your ping.

Personally from looking at your stats, I would opt for Interleaving to be disabled, this removes the error correction, lowers your ping and may cause instability to your line but can also increase download speed.

Personally I would have the 6dB profile with interleaving disabled.

I think I will leave interleaving on as I game quite a bit and dont want to disconnect. I'm not too bothered about getting more download speed. Or do you think I would be better with it off as I game?

Really impressed with the upload for only an 8mb connection though.

Thanks for the advise. No disconnects after 2 hours, should be ok I hope.
 
My SN Margin has gone back to: (Up/Down) [dB]: 3.0 / 4.5 when they put it to 3.0/3.5

It was completely stable yesterday

Does that mean that they have altered it?
