i am looking at getting one of these phones with O2. im basically getting it for texting, MSN and video and picture viewing... i have a few questions.

1. it takes miniSD what is the MAX size you can put in here?

2. how long would the battery last if i was watching video's on msn and txting?

3. is it a 2.5mm headphone socket, so i just need an adapter.

4. does anyone have any sample pics taken with the camera?

I've got the i-Mate K-Jam which is the same thing just with different firmware.

1 - Not sure about max size, but mine has a 2Gb card in.

2 - Not sure tbh, mine gets charged each day when it syncs with the PC.

3 - Yep, 2.5mm. The bundled headphones are surprisingly good.

4 -

Edit - Changed the picture link as I noticed that imageshack had resized it.

Iv got the xda mini and was looking for a memory card myself, 2gb was the max I could find :) Battery life I have to say is very good, then again I had an 8800 before this.. everything has good battery life compared to that!

Had my XDA mini-s for 3 days now & I'm loving it :D. MSN on the train with a full keyboard to type abuse ;)

thanks for replies. after reading reviews and things ive decided to get this as soon as my contract runs out. maybe before if i get impatient

OH thats another thing. how much bandwidth does messenger use? do i need more than 6 or 12MB of wap to have messenger on a few hours a day?

6mb will be plenty IME :)

Tom.

Yeah MSN doesn't use that much, it's more the temptation to go off browsing when on the train that eats into any data allowance you have :/

I worked out the other day than on my T-Mob SDA (runs Windows Smartmobile) that idle MSN uses up about 1 KB per hour. Not sure how much bloat the messages themselves carry, though.

well its just text thats sent and received so it shouldnt be that much... and ive just found out that o2 only do a 4MB data thing for a fiver a month...

Well it all depends on hand-shaking and stuff. I dunno...!

Switch to T-Mobile, their Vario is just the XDA Mini S (or HTC Wizard) with another name, and you can get 6MB for a fiver :)
EDIT: And apparently on the 1st of april, T-Mob are bringing in an unlimited data add-on for £7.50 per month!

I've gone for the basic online bundle with O2 , it includes 1Mb/month browse/download. If MSN uses 1k an hour then that should do me nicely :)

As long as you're not actually getting or sending any messages, that is!

On MSN mobile 7hrs x 31 days = 217K , leaves me with plenty for standard MSN text messages (I hope) . Will be interesting to see my bill at the end of the month.

yea... well i downloaded eMSN for my nokia and that should use the same ammount of bandwidth so i'll check out my bill next month. the 8th i think

im on Orange at the minute. they rang me today asking if i wanted to upgrade and get 10% off my bills. im cancelling it as soon as i can gettin this o2 xda mini s its class had a shot of one today the sheer size of the screen is great... cant wait

Ive had one of these for a couple of months, and have now put it on ebay.

Why - its too damn slow. Seriously laggy performance :(

Absolutely superb feature set and looks great, but with its laggy performance especially in tomtom5 (takes an age to do anything in that), and the fact that they are worth about £300 on ebay, i just had to get rid.

Its worked out great as i paid o2 £99.99 for the handset, so have made £200 on that, put the sim in a basic nokia i got for free, thus taking the total cost of ownership right right down. Probably the cheapest phone to go for in the long run when taking out a new contract.
