hey all...

its like, say you're a new customer to O2, you can register interest in a new phone and then preorder it on a contract so that when it comes out you get the phone and start the contract then.

But if you're an existing customer who wants to upgrade to a new phone, I dont see how you can reserve a handset for either the phones release date (if its after youre ready to upgrade), or for when your account is ready to upgrade (if its after the phone comes out).

I mean I dont suppose supply is going to be an issue....and chances are you can just upgrade to the new phone when youre able to...but you never know. Wasnt there supply issues with the Samsung Galaxy I think I remember?

And that means that as an existing customer, O2 does not offer you the same as new customers?

Phone them and ask. They should let you.

What phone is it you want? The Galaxy S 2?

That probably will have supply issues.

Ring them up and they should reserve you one. Anyone that doesn't ring up and go through retentions when their contract expires is an idiot... :p

I wasnt neccesarily meaning me...I am coming up for an upgrade, but I'm still unsure what to go for. But yeah, it more just got me thinking about whether the "give existing customers the same deals as new ones" would cover something like that.

I am tempted by the SGS2 but so far I cant see (and to be fair I've only looked on mobiles.co.uk) any deals to preorder on O2.
