Ok go with me on this one. Does any one else struggle to eat the new oatibix simply becuase the absorb all the milk in about 6 seconds. And then they become the ultimate bowl of stodge..

Having said that i kind of like them the same as wheatabix.. and there better for you. :D

You're not eating them properly. You need to put down a bed of cornflakes first, then stick a couple of Oatibix on top (in a classic 'V' formation), cascade the milk over them. They sook up just enough milk and your bowl remains stodge-free.

Not a patch on Weetabix IMO. Like eating a cake of cat litter

I think they taste really good, less fibery than weetabix, but only have a fraction less fiber in them per 100g.

Its all good, they do soak up milk fast, but then, you have to eat them fast! :) Which isn't a problem when they are covered in jam.. mmm

TM :)

ive got weetabix and they do the same. I put one in the bowl, bit of milk on then eat in 3 spoons. repeat 3 or 4 times :)

Speed eating is the technique I choose. Risky, but worth it.

Agreed... there is defintely a "ripe" period when the *bix is between dry and crispy, and porridge.

And there's always a bit that flakes off that you later have to scrape up as sludge after all the brilliance.

Ugh how can you eat it crispy, that's disgusting. I stick tons of milk in then leave it for a few minutes to remove the possibility of encountering any crunchy bits.

They've dissapeared from the local supermarket though so back on regular weetabix now. Hope they come back, and in bigger boxes too as they did taste really good.

Yes, they do turn into stodge, but if you use warm milk and far too much, you get a rather tasty porridge effect. I use it as a nice change from the old Fruit and Fibre, usually on a weekend. Oh how I treat myself sometimes!

Whatever you do, after you've eaten don't put the dish into the dishwasher without rinsing first - you'll find the wheaty remnants form a substance harder than diamond.

could you build a house with crusted weetabix?

I love weetabix but the milk bix consistency has to be just right.

I microwave it for 46secs exactly and it's perfect.

Has anyone tried spreading butter on them ?

Weetabix with butter on is a very nice snack.

I didn't want to be ridiculed for saying that :)

Proper butter, not margarine.

Indeed :)

Not many of us around though. Most people clasp their hand over their mouth and make puking noises as they run out of the room when I have it....

lol to be sure...

(As an aside... dont put your used ground coffee down the sink either as it can dry as hard as cement in your pipes!)

I can understand this, especially if you are short on milk, that is when it is worse.

Museli is the best anyway. :p
