OBDII Code Reader

I got an eBay one for about fifty quid but it has a cool screen and can plot multiple graphs and give freeze state data along with tests.

I had a one for my laptop effort my Nissan but I trapped the beggar in my car door the first time I used it and it broke.

You must have a different D620 to the ones I use as they're terrible!

It's a fantastic machine - I bought it because I had one as a work laptop years ago and I was so impressed with it.

It's now 4 years old yet still performs brilliantly, runs Windows 7 perfectly, is really nicely built with a magnesium-alloy shell and gives me great battery options - I once had it last for most of a flight to Australia.

It's a great machine.

Is it a Latitude? I run a Latitude D830 for my Windows 7 laptop, same as what you've said, crazy long battery life and performs amazing despite being so old. Just surprised at the D620 you have being any good as the ones we've got at work at pretty poor at best :D

All D620's are Lattitudes, the D620 is part of the Lattitude series.

Mine arrived today - it works and reports no faults found on the ecu - now just need to figure out how to add manufacturer specific pids onto android app 'torque' as it doesnt report on all the available gizmos within it.

Also got carsoft 6.5 with SP1 and am looking out for the cable and usb adaptor

As much use as a chocolate fireguard then really as it misses out abotu 4/5ths of the available codes the car could flag up. The ECU doesnt even store every engine related code.

Get Carsoft working :p

Could someone help, I've been trying to set this OBD2 bluetooth thing up. The main program I'm trying to get working is scanmaster.

I've got the laptop paired with the OBD2 reader, and when I press 'connect' in scanmaster, it connects to com3, but then says something along the lines of 'interface not found' - I was just in the car and now I can't remember what it said exactly :o

Any ideas anyone?

Right can someone help? I think my ECU may be dodgy (which would explain A LOT)

I have tried this with a Hyundai getz and mk4 mondeo and had no problems at all but this is what it shows when I plug it into my car:

All programs I have used have come up with a similar message.

I don't know but at a guess if it works in other vehicles but only yours says 'No vehicle response / connection or power' maybe the socket/ecu/power is faulty?

Hopefully someone more knowledgable comes along :)

Yes it does - my laptop is a Dell D620 running Windows 7 64bit and it works perfectly.

OK so I got the carsoft cables off ebay for £40 only to find that it errors when installing 6.5 due to being on win7 64bit. Fox how did you get yours to work?

I dont even thinK I installed it, just drag all the files into a folder and it runs? Dont think I did anything special - have you run it as Admin?

I have proof it works as I used it on NickXX's M3 at the RR day :p

Did it have any suggestions as to why it made such low power?

It says that it can't run as it's not installed completely - this is happening running it from the setup folder and the installed to folder
