Object Dock and similar programs

Decided i want a nice dock for my desktop, was wonering what my options were

would prefer it to be free really so what do you get with the free version of objectdock or is that just a trial?

would also like to be able to customize it until my hearts content with skins/icons etc

found this one called rocketdock http://www.punksoftware.com/rocketdock
looks quite good, anyone used that one before?

some of the features on that rocketdock look like vista only though?

Try RK Launcher or YZDock as well.

Stardock programs are usually a time limited trial and/or have limited functionality versus the paid for versions.

Gotta say that in my experience of using Objectdock, it is little or no better than freeware programs like the two mentioned above.

I didn't like rocket dock as much as stardock. There were several things which wasn't as good IIRC and in my opinion but I remember the main gripe was the minimize to dock feature which would minimize things which were hiden in the task tray and not present on the task bar to the dock.

For instance the NOD32 GUI would be minimized to dock instead of hidden.

If you go onto the alienware website, and download alienguise and the transformer skin i think it is, one of them comes with an object dock.

I used YZDock on my work laptop and it works a treat

I use Rocket Dock & havent had a single problem
