Ive only just discovered this,, but does setting it to minimum have any effect on the game, (apart from making it really easy that is)?? Ive just set it low to help me get through the dagon shrine part, I couldnt manage it any other way as after I stole the book all hell broke loose and I got shocked and fireballed from all sides,, lol, just wondering if the game will penalise me in any way for using it, It makes the fighting so easy its too good to be true...

Well it's just like a difficulty slider in any game. Play with it all the way down if you want it just means you won't get much of a challenge.

Just wondered if all achievements were still possible on easy?? having great fun on low setting, Ive just slaughtered the whole population of Bruma,,lol :D

The slider just adjusts the ingame enemy hitpoints and attacks from what I could see, so you don't loose out on any achievements. I have mine 3 notches past the middle bit - but on the final battle I ended up dropping it down lower then the medium point because things were so hectic.

I've heard that you level up a lot slower if you slide the bar left...but I kept it in the middle the whole way through.

You do, upon starting the game mine defaulted to the far left and I was killing things in one hit with a sword. Since melee skills are checked with each hit/swipe you do on an enemy it took me a week just to reach Lv4 before I spotted the difficulty slider itself.

yeah , i've seen a friend on my gamelist that has completed the main game and half the other guild achievments in the game and is only on LV4!

I had to lower it for this same part as well. I just lowered it a few notches after getting my ass handed to me several times. After the fight I put it back up to the defauly again.

A good, gamer-friendly feature imo. Games should never become difficulty chores; don't get me wrong, I don't like it easy but some of the burnout: revenge time trials are grrrrrrrrrrr.

So just dropping the difficulty for a hard bit and then upping it straight after youve done it shouldnt really effect leveling

Nope, you're just temporarily reducing the enemy hitpoints/attacks on the fly and reverting them to normal once you put the slider back in place. I just fought a baddie last night who makes the final battle look tame...

This was a single person who utterly kicked my rear end and I only just won through luck mainly because a trap killed her.

Umbra? She can be tricky with the slider on medium-hard :)

Yup, most of my armour (ebony) was reduced to 0 and as I was fleeing to the exit, she got stuck on some nail trap :D
