probably a really stupid question but where can i buy lockpics ive run out and cant find any places to buy more. or if i join the thiefs guild can i get training to improve lockpicking skills and therefore use less lockpicks.

But, to answer the question, you can generally find lockpicks scattered around, on bodies, in most "none"-respectable shops. Ongar is probably the cheapest person to buy them off.

Also, if you go around the outside of the Imperial City (I think you leave from the Market entrance) you will see some stables. If you turn right and walk along the wall, you'll eventually find a dealer hiding in the shadows. His name is Shady Sam (I think) and he can sell you loads of lockpicks (up to 100 - 150 I believe) for about 5 gold each. He always has a lot of lockpicks for me.

If you want the messenger to get to you quickly, stay where you are (the messenger only changes destination when he/she gets to your previous one and finds you not there).
Joining the thieves guild (like any other guild) will not affect the rest of the game. But it, like the Dark Brotherhood questline is one of the best questlines in the game

The alternative is to read a Grey Fox poster, get a beggers disposition up to 70+ and then ask about the Grey Fox. You can then track down and join the thieves guild that way.
