Oblivion - No items to select when enchanting

I have some Sigil Stones that I want to use to enchant my Goldbrand and other items, however when I click the Sigil stone, and then click 'Add Item' none of my items show up in that window.

Any ideas? I have Darnified, so could that be causing it?

Or am I doing something wrong? I have just been clicking the Sigil stone, which takes me to the enchantment window and lets me add a name, choose an item and tells me what it's going to add, but the choose item bit doesn't work :/

I thnk if the item already has an enchantment, you can't enchant it further.

At least, I remember only being able to use standard items in enchanting.

Only one effect can be applied to armor, no matter the enchantment source, and only one to weapons if Sigil Stones are used; altar enchantments can apply multiple effects to weapons.

Try using an altar I guess.

Ah, that would make sense if that's the case then. I have KotN armour and a bunch of other enchanted items that I use, I have nothing 'normal'.

I'll see if I can put some more enchantments on at my altar.

Even at an altar you can't enchant already enchanted items, only generic ones, and once they're enchanted, you can't change them either. Odd, I know.

There's probably a mod which changes the way enchanting works, might be worth a look. I'd be very surprised if there isn't, anyway.
