Hi all, been having a problem for months now, I was able to play the game perfectly for ages, got quite a lot done, got my character customised etc, but now whenever I play, as soon as I instant travel, or go through a door the game closes, and I have to restart, any ideas on how to fix this please?

Something similar used to happen to me, it didn’t happen all the time though. When the game went to the loading screen there was something like a 1 in 10 chance that it would just crash and kick me out. Got very annoying and when I installed Knights of the Nine it happened more and more.
Then my pc went bang and I lost all my data. I have since installed it again and it hasn’t crashed yet (touch wood…) Maybe try backing up your mods and saves and reinstall the game.

couple of things.
have you got auto save enabled on - fast travel - wait - sleep - load screen?
do you use quicksaves?
after prolonged play all the above cause crashes.
don't quicksave and only ever do manual saves.
your game may have become corrupted so you may have to back up your recent savegames and do a complete uninstall/reinstall. (and make sure you manually clear the registers and remainder of the bethesda folder left behind.
