Increasing the mercantile skill will increase a vendor's available gold. You will only ever get a fraction of the listed amount for a valuable item though.

I have a good reputation with one in the market district he give me good prices for most things, but is limited to about 800 gold though

Check which items have a stolen symbol next to them, it could be a glitch.

Fixed it in the end

I think what I done was, when in the other realm, when a guard died I clicked on him, but didn't loot anything, that was enough for the guards tobthinkni was looting..

I'm pleased you manged to sort it! I've been thinking of reinstalling Oblivion and playing the Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles expansions. My character has completed the arena, fighter's guild, mages build, main quest etc. He has 95% chameleon and full spell absorbtion.

is this right ?

been reading up how to make spells, and it says you can not make a 100% chameleon spell just from another chameleon spell , to get this , you have to do x,y and z

but

i can create a 100% chameleon spell with the "shadow" no problem, so why is this?

apparently im now breaking the law..

half way through the quest "Ahdarjis Heirloom"
when i read i need to do the deadric quest "Sanguine" first

so i did the Sanguine Quest, completed (by running away)

now when i talk to any guard i get "im breaking the law, stolen goods will be confiscated"

1. i dont have any stolen goods
2. i guess its because of the spell i casted on the count ?

do i just need to pay the fine ?
( i am a member of the theifs guild mind)

its ok , i just paid it , only 160 gold

You don't necessarily have to level that up if I remember correctly, you can simply create spells that cast fortify mercantile on self for a second or so at the max value you can afford/create.

Couple it with a charm spell and you can haggle for insane prices :D

It works on thing like armourer as well when you want to repair things easily, or security when you want to pick a lock/pickpocket. I seem to remember that you can cheat the trainers as well by draining your own skills before you talk to them, then you get lower prices.

The game is broken on so many levels, you can do some crazy things with the right combinations.

expecting some sort of "ending" like the game finished not like this, where i can still go and "do things"
very disappointing !

110 hours sunk into the game, enjoyed every minute of it

Nice going! I keep meaning to go back and play Morrowind/Oblivion again, Skyrim I can take or leave, it never grabbed me like the others did.

Did you do the Dark Brotherhood quest line? Can't see it in your screenshots (best quest line in the game if you missed it!). Also are you on the base game or the GOTY edition, the Shivering Isles expansion is worth a look if you have it.

No I skipped that one
I had to kill a pretend vampire hunter becuase of the bug, still got his weapon in my inventory (dark brotherhood)

I have the GOTY edition , but only installed the base game

My character got to level 22, although the last 2 levels I was just getting my stats up for the last paradise mission..
