Lo Guys

I want to overclock Q6600 on my Abit IP35-Pro to 3.2ghz

Setup:
Q6600 G0 (stock)
Abit IP35-Pro
Tuniq Tower
4GB Geil ULL @4-4-4-12, 2.1v
Nvidia 8800GTS (Stock)

What I want to know is whats the best settings to use to OC this setup

Vcore, MCH, VTT, Ram Voltage and timmings etc
and the best stress testing software..

all the best

Haven't got intel setup, but from memory some have managed to get to 3.2GHz from stock volts, if it doesn't pass say prime then up voltage in increments as board allows. As far as I remember intel cpu's aren't as fussy about ram timings like AMD so set them according to spec settings. Ram voltage I would start at 2.1v. MCH I can't help you with i'm afraid.

Stress testing software wise:
Prime95 - stability testing
Memtest/Memtest86 - for ram testing for errors etc...
intel Thermal Analysis Tool
Orthos/Orthos 2004/OCCT possibly as well

Benchmarking: 3d mark 03/PC Mark perhaps?
Have you got CPU-z?

Read the sticky. That should be a good guide, believe it or not. ;)

Overclocking is not a precise science. The best thing you can do is do it yourself so that you understand the processes involved and how different components will impact upon what is essentially a compound process.

Don't be lazy.

External clock 380mhz
multiplier x 9
cpu clock 3420mhz
dram speed 1:100 (DDR2-760)
pci-express 100mhz

voltages

cpu core - 1.4475v
ddr2 voltage - 2.1v
cpu vtt - 1.2v
mch - 1.25v
ich - 1.05v
ichio - 1.5v

these are the setting i used when i had the ipro35 board before moving to the new asus striker II extreme.

bear in mind my memory was 800mhz and was rated for 2.1v

so please ensure you check your memory settings for you memory.

The above should get you 3.4mhz over clock :) but watch the temps as i also lapped my cpu
