OC AND HAZRO MONITOR MADNESS

Dear readers, please bare with me as I attempt to explain my situation.

30th of August 2011 over the course of 3 weeks desperate for a monitor I bought a Hazro HZ27WC 8-Bit 27" LED Widescreen Professional Monitor for £411 from OC. The monitor arrived with a fault and was returned 9 days later. During this time I bought a 2nd monitor from OC which was a Dell UltraSharp U2711 27" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Midnight Grey **1yr Warranty** (factory 2nd) which was also faulty, returned and luckily refunded. I then ordered a 3rd monitor a Samsung S27B750VS 27" which I'm happy with and still have today.

OC however sent the Hazro monitor back to me advising no fault found, nothing wrong with the monitor and that it couldn't be accepted as a return under the distance selling act as I'd purchased the item via my business. As the monitor still had the same fault I was advised to return to Hazro which took me some time to do as I was disheartened by the whole ordeal I'd experienced with OC providing 2 faulty monitors.

Eventually in Feb this year after sitting under my desk at work still boxed I returned the monitor to Hazro and completed all the return requirements. After almost 1 month I contact them for an update and they said they had no record of receiving the monitor and asked me to provide the tracking number which I did. Since this time I've sent 4/5 emails asking for an update all of which have been ignored. I've asked OC for assistance on the matter which they are not prepared to do and like me have no other means of contacting Hazro other than an email address.

I am now at a loss on how to progress this matter other than taking it through the small claims court?

Any assistance or suggestions would be of great help.

Many thanks,

Scaryadams

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Does the tracking information state that the monitor was delivered to Hazro or not?

Does it give any information of who signed for it and have you passed this information on to Hazro?

You bought as a business, DSR does not apply to business.
Very unlucky at getting 2 "faulty?" monitors.

You've sent the monitor to the manufacturer, theres obviously nothing OcUK can do about it now tbh.

What was the fault with the Hazro?
Aren't Hazro known for poor CS?
Who were you thinking of taking to small claims?
Proof of delivery?
Who signed?
Courier Claim?

What service did you use to send the monitor back to them?

If it was signed for in some manner then you're sorted. If not, well not so.

I would be inclined to take it to Court myself. I had dealings with Hazro and they were less than helpful with a faulty monitor I was in receipt of. PitA company to have to deal with.

Hey many thanks for all your quick replies! OK here goes.

I returned the monitor using the post offices special insured next day delivery service, marked as delivered. I also have a recorded signature, all of which have been provided to Hazro. My dealings internally with Hazro have been with a Dan Nuttfield.

The fault with the monitor was the screen was out of focus, moving image much like a badly tuned TV or that of a faulty cable. Also with the screens image if you divided the screen into 1/4's top to bottom with the bottom 3/4 was showing a part showing part of the top 1/4 of the screen. OSD was also in the same format and un-navigable etc which to me suggested a system board/firmware issue. I do have a picture if you'd like to see the fault in action?

Yes I'm thinking of taking Hazro to the small claims court to try and get either a refund or at best just a working monitor back that I could sell on as I no longer require the use of it. I've completed all the paper work and have emailed them today advising to either contact me or I'll submit the paper work.

Correct Hazro have a few documented cases of poor customer service most of which are contained within these forums. I really couldn't even tell you if the monitor was any good either :( From reading specs and peoples comments here the panel appears to be great however some have developed issues later on.

All in all its been such a shame. After being really gutted with OC for the months after the initial purchase and eventually calming down I've been quite relaxed (too relaxed perhaps) about my dealings with Hazro. However recently I just thought that £400 is a little bit much too much to just let slip and decided to do something about it.

Hazro from what I've read here appear to be very good and also assembled in the UK. I understand they are a very very small company who I thought would have been eager to make a good name for themselves within the IPS market. This could be easily achieved with a quality, reasonably priced product backed with some excellent customer service. As for the product, I can't comment, price was good, customer service however........Booooooo.

Absolutely no idea how OcUK put that as no fault found?!?
Was it the same fault at the time it went to OcUK?

If you have prrof its been sent and delivered then Hazro it is.
Did you purchase on a CC mate? do a chargeback
Trading standards and SoGa would be my call rather than small claims tbh mate.

Hey, got your order number? I will see if I can get in touch with Hazro for you. :)

Also I need the proof of delivery details to Hazro so we can see what is going on.

I tried the Hazro WC glass model from my friend for a day. the screenshot you provided is what happened to me. I tried a different DVI cable and the problem went. I was using a dodgy cable originally.

Hope you get it sorted

Was thinking the same thing when reading down this post. G/Card or cable fault. Wonder if the OP tried a different cable?

I wish it was the cable, I tried 3 cables from 4 different sources with the same result :(

Wow great thank you.

Hey, got your order number? I will see if I can get in touch with Hazro for you. :)

ORDER NUMBER: OC1285688

At work at the moment so I'll get you that when I get home.

No worries at all, shall pass it onto my technical manager tomorrow morning for you and see if there is anything we can do at our end. :)

I've actually had some correspondence from Hazro today. Firstly advising that the monitor may be located in the buffer area of the warehouse, secondly that the monitor can't be found and requesting my tracking number that's already in the same email chain. I'll send them a copy of the receipt today and I'll keep you guys posted on the progress.

Thanks for all your comments and help so far, greatly appreciate it
