OC Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego Temps

Hi Folks,

I've never Over clocked a system before but thought I'd give it a go after reading so much on this forum (thanks guys!)

I've overclocked my 3700+ SanDiego to 2.6gh with HTT of 237

Ive had to drop ram CL to 2.5, but the extra HTT should cover that right?

Anyway, the CPU idles at 34C and after running systool stress test for about 2 hrs the temp never went above 50C

The main question is, is this safe? As I'd hate to blow my nice new PC!!

That temp is fine.

It's 65'C+ you need to start worrying about.

Lower is always better though.

I too have o/c my 3700+ to 2.6ghz (10x260), and it idles @ 35c and hits 55c under full load on prime95, so your temps are fine...

I've got mine running at 257 x 10 and it idles at @33 and max it's @ 45. I'm cooling with SI-120.

Need better RAM to push it further, but it probably isn't worth it.
