OC failed today after months of working fine ?

I got pc3 8500 bit from cpu-z unless that is wrong some how.

This why i am thinking i got sent the wrong ram now as part numbers do not match.

but the part numbers do match

(OCZ3RPR1600C6LV4GK)

The point is, set everything to default stock settings. with these settings your ram will run at 1066. boot pc and stress test it. no issues? do next.

set the ram manually (frequency, voltages and timings) as specified by OCZ, then boot. if u have issues then RMA the ram, if not then its a problem somewhere else.

Thanks theron.

I have done stress test with the ram at 1600Mhz before and it ran fine.

I setup everything as what OCZ said to do and i was running it fine for months.

I will get a disk later and run memtest then i will see what that says.

Also seen this warning not sure what it means.

do as suggested, clear the CMOS, start all over.

work from there to isolate the ram as the cause.

things can fail over time, because it worked before doesnt mean it isnt failing now.

I think i have found the problem but not sure how to fix it.

I have reset the bios and then I only overclocked the ram to 1600mhz.

Put the ram volts to 1.65.

And set the timmings to 6-8-6-24.

Overclock failed again so what i did was put the timing on auto and it booted fine.

So if the timings from OCZ don't work for me what can i do? Are timings important to worry about much?

Thanks.

You are not going to lose any noticeable performance with slightly looser timings. That said, your RAM should run at the speed it is rated, so it might be worth thinking about RMA if it won't.
