OC Troubles turning off then back on

I had a stable OC for a good while, year or so. I replaced my case recently and GPU and all was good, However I couldn't get into the BIOS due to speed of SSD booting so I had to clear the CMOS.

I put what I thought was the OC setup I had back in place but now for the last few weeks when using the PC it would just turn clean off and then boot up again into windows no problem for a while then the same thing.

I thought it was a virus so did some cleaning but nothing was found. Then I thought maybe the HDD's as I was transferring files between the 3 of them. But all scans show no issues either.

Any ideas? its driving me mad. specs below:

ASROCK Z68 Pro3 motherboard
i7 2600k CPU, was running at 4.7 with previous OC
Gelid Trnaquillo Rev 2 cooler
8GB XMS3 running in XMP profile, tested this and it doesnt make any difference
EVGA GTX 1080 Hybrid
XFX PRO 750W Black Edition PSU (venting at bottom of case)
Phanteks Enthoo case with 2 140mm front fans and 1 140mm rear
Corsair force GT 90GB SSD Windows
2 SATA HDDs for data

Does the machine behave itself when not overclocked?
When it reboots itself, what are you doing at the time? If gaming what are the temps like?

I will test it as not had no overclock for a good few years. It seems to not be rebooting when doing anything specific. Can be in battlegrounds, moving files around, or just sat at desktop.

Usally only reason a board will restart itself is if something is unresponsive, GPU/CPU

The try with no overclock is deff a good starting point :)

I seem to have it stable by removing the OK completely. So dont think its damaged/broken parts.

I then found a guide online for Z68 Sandy Mobos and I7's which I followed but got a little lost as it states how to setup the BIOS options then when it moves to setting the volts it doesnt explain itself properly on what to adjust when.

http://www.overclock.net/t/1198504/...-guide-sandy-bridge-ivy-bridge-asrock-edition

Wont get any response there now as its old.

I set the BIOS like the guide said and then set offset mode core to +0.005 and boost volts up to +0.066(need to verify this as on a different device it may well have been higher). I took a leap that the core clock offset (+0.005) is for idle volts then the boost (+0.066) is added for when needed. CPUz reported the volts under load on the CPU at 1.44v.

PRIME95 then ran ok at 4.6ghz for a good 5 mins. Is my voltage setting assumption above correct? if so I will fine tune for heat vs speed.

ok so I adjusted the turbo voltage down a step and the multi down to 4.5 as it was getting a little hot in blend test of prime. Cooler is Ghelid tranquillo Rev 2 so not the bizzo.

It seems to be stable again now but not on great voltages. Is this ok?
