Hi all,

Recently got my new phenom 965BE to replace my ageing athlon quad... and want some help, well not want... need some help overclocking the bugger.

I also just got a new PSU: XFX Pro550W to help with the overclock.

I run 7gb mem (3 x 2gb and 1 x 1gb) ddr3 1333mhz ram, asrock m3n78d mobo, asus gtx560 and an arctic freezer pro 7 rev 2 cooler.

what can i hit on my overclock, what volts etc and what is safe to go too?

thanks

4-4.2ghz is usually the average speed newer ones reach when pushed (older ones struggled past 3.8ghz), 1.45V is about the maximum recommended voltage for long term use, if you need to go over that your chip sucks and you're trying too hard. :p

I'm not familiar with that board but v-droop (voltage drop under load) might be an issue if there is no load line calibration setting.

Just dial in 1.45V and try for it, leave the hyper transport and CPU north bridge at stock speeds to begin with, you might want to monitor temps though with that cooler.
