OC'ing GTX560Ti, Freezing while Running Furmark

Hello, im currently OC'ing my Asus GTX 560Ti, getting up to 945/1063Mhz (Stock 830/1002Mhz using MSI Afterburner, bumped the volts up by 0.03V, stable during games but after running Furmark for more than 2 mins, temps getting up to 77 degrees the screen freezes and furmark closes, im guessing this is me getting too hot and thermal throttling is kicking in, the reason I suspect thermal throttling is because if I run furmark again I get about 12FPS instead of 55FPS, only way to fix is a system restart.

Any ideas, or a good guide on OC GPU's

Oh also noted my Bandwidth has increased 11GB/s, Im pretty impressed with that, what do you think?

OK, just ran furmark with fans set at 100%, max temps hit 74 degrees so a little cooler but it still froze.

Any ideas, up the voltage more, or should I go back to square on and reset clocks and start upping the core clock until I find the max stable, then reset and start upping the memory clocks until I find max stable, how do I know if more volts will help and when do I add them, when it starts freezing?

Yep
Stop using Furmark!!!!

Play your games, if they run fine, its fine:)

Furmark is a pointless (GPU Killing) piece of software.
If you must bench/stress test, run Heaven or 3DMark 11 etc

Good luck;)

Really, OK Furmark out the window!

So should I alt+tab my game while im overclocking my card?

:)
If the game regularly crashes or you get any graphical corruption, just back off the over clock slightly and try again.

Try & establish the highest stable gaming clocks on stock volts and then if you need more, increase the volts maybe 0.02v at a time incrementally upping the clocks as you go.

Monitor your temps, Gpu load, mem useage & FPS with AfterBurner.

The trouble with Furmark/Kombuster etc is that they place an abnormal load on the GPU that isn't in any meaningful way related to the loadings you will experience whilst gaming.

Ironically, a card can be stable in Furmark yet fail whilst gaming, so go figure:)

OK this sounds like very good advice, thank you.

Although where do I find the FPS option with Afterburner, I have the latest version, I think its actually a Beta
