Just built my rig and need some pointer how to OC it.

I have switched from using SPD in the BIOS and have got the memory working @ 3-3-3-8-11 , and used the Asus AI-Booster to 20% OC, only this seems to set the multiplyer to x10 and a FSB 320, ok it gives me a 3.2 OC but the FSB : DRAM is 4:3.

how does the FAB : DRAM work? what does 4:3 mean and so what mhz is the memory running at?

also what voltage should the CPU be running ? I have set the RAM to 2.2v (they defaulted to 1.8v) and the packaging says they go 2.2-2.35

all help much appreciated.

if the ratio really is 4:3 then yoru memory is now running at 480mhz

if its 3:4 then you are running at 856mhz

basically the ratio is like a divider. you diving yoru cpu fsb by the first number then mulitply by the second number this then gives you a fsb for the ram wich you double for ddr2. eg.

cpu fsb = 320 soo 320/4 = 80 then * 3 = 240 doubled = 480mhz

thanks for the info : now I know what the FSB : DRAM means divide by first then X by second cool.

yes it is 4:3 , my ram is running under rated @ the moment!

how do I change the FSB : DRAM setting?

yep divide by first then x second and dont forget to double the final figure for ddr2 :)

as for *** ratio there should be a settin in the bios somewere that you can change. will either show ratios or mine shows ram speeds as though you were running at stock for eg

400mhz = 4:3
533mhz = 1:1
667mhz = 4:5
800mhz = 2:3

ok I changed the CAS settings and now i'm running my Team PC6400 3-3-3-8 @ PC8500 FSB : DRAM 1:2 (534.mhz) with CAS 4-4-4-12.

and it's booted - woohoo , now just gotta work out how I change my FSB and clock the CPU :-)

Still unsure on voltages - i've upped my RAM to 2.25 wich is within Manufacturers settings, and I've got the VCore @ 1.42 - showing in AI-Booster (set to 1.4 in bios) and the Intel box says max 1.35
, is this a problem?
