Would not count on that, but hope they do. They have been content releasing last few generations using TIM and now on there HEDT chips which can pull 500+ watts ocd and they are similarly contentcontent using toothpaste.

What are you playing? Pretty much everything I play will use all 8 threads on my i7, and I've seen games happily spread the load over 16 threads.

Skylines will happily eat threads in big cities... Used to swamp my 2500k. 1600x shows more than six loaded threads. No regrets here

Well my 2500k ran 99% on all cores with a medium-large city... If you're running with no or minimal mods, most likely you're being capped by the graphics thread. Heavily modded installs (such as mine) can load up the pathfinding threads and even it out a bit. I certainly see enough CPU usage with 6c/12t that I don't feel it was wasted

I'm so glad CPU stagnation took place while i was at uni. Graduate in 6 weeks and a bit of time to do some saving for a much needed upgrade into a considerably more interesting space (minus GPU prices)
It's ok by looks of it everyone flogging their GPU's on MM now
Just to add I think assassins Creed Origins was shown to scale past 16 threads
That's my plan as well, or even Zen 3 if it still supports AM4.

Maybe my return to an AMD system will be shortlived depending on how this mainstream 8 core from Intel is executed.
