My bro just bought a 70k black Octavia VRs Mk1. Full Skoda history and he is having it fully serviced tomorrow (cheap mates rates at skoda for £180 lol).

However, he happened to mention that it had been re-mapped to around 230BHP.

It got to 60 in like 6 seconds and was pant wettingly fast from there on - i LOVE this car.

Some peoples nievety when they see it is hillarious - 'just a skoda' they say..... rofl.

Love it - interior was mint, shame about the relatively low quality cabin as standard but you cant have everything. Simply great car.

Want one.

When you mean like 6 seconds do you mean like > 6.8 seconds?

Given that a 225BHP Audi TT does a stock 0-60 time of 6.7 seconds i'm interested to know how a MK1 VRS does it 0.7 seconds quicker with 5bhp more.

Have you posted for the lolz or something?

No. Chirst dont get on your high horse! i dont know HOW it goes that quick or WHY (other than the remap). 0.7 isnt that much anyway lol - think about it.

Although i might have expected such a response given your signature.

;-)

Moving on now - anyone else got love for this car?

The 4wd means it can get a much better launch, been in loads of FWD 1.8T platforms and launching is always interesting when all the weight shifts backwards.

Interestingly much more weight difference between the VRS and TT than i first thought.

But given that a 260BHP LCR won't do 0-60 in 6 seconds.......

Adding a little more power doesn't bring the 0-60 time down that much really, it takes loads more power or gearing or drivetrain layout to get much lower 0-60 times.

Much like when i stuck a supercharger on the MX5, 140bhp stock 0-60 7.2, 180+ bhp with the supercharger, did this give me sub 6.5 second 0-60s?

DID IT HECK!

I thought it was measured at Santa Pod?

If it was only on the speedo how did you time it?

noooooooooooo - it WAS measured at Santa Pod- He took me out in it about 30mins ago and i was just looking at the speedo to compare what the paperwork said
