To be fair, the clutch (and more specificaly the dual mass flywheel) and the MAF have been problematic on this engine accross the entire VAG range, it's not specific to Skoda.

Ahh, fair enough - didn't realise that. My garage and Skoda customer services have upset me at the moment - they don't seem to be listening to what I'm saying *sigh*

Do love the car though - first gear seems a bit short but second and third pull hard right to the redline. The turbo spools at about 2000rpm too which is nice

I see there's a VRs TDI coming out with the 170 PD lump in it, shame Skoda have nothing on their site about it.
