So I'm hoping for an iPad 3 refresh this month, maybe with the new lightning connector and 4G for this country? :)

I wouldn't expect an ipad refresh until march / april ish next year. If we will see anything before christmas it will be an Ipad mini, and even that is not certain.

I wouldn't be surprised if the normal iPad got those updates now (and limited to just those) and wasn't refreshed properly until this time next year.

When I say refreshed, I don't mean a new design or anything, I mean literally just adding the lightning connector to bring it in line with the iP5, and maybe the frequency for the UK's 4G.

Narh, they are refresh every year anyway, it's not that long to wait now. The big refresh is next April and if they do it now with a mini refresh it takes away new stuff from the next one!

Can't see them refreshing the 4G frequencies for the UK yet.

If they give it the same frequency support as the iPhone 5, then they're limiting it to EE only, which hardly seems worth the effort. If, OTOH, they add support for the main frequencies the UK will use, they'll get a huge amount of flak for not doing the same with the iPhone 5. It's a lose-lose situation.

I wouldn't be surprised if it received a minor spec change. It's not unheard of Apple updating a product mid life cycle.

Nah, it's October. Won't be long till it's time for the next iPad which, due to the Lightening connector's size and the same process they used for the glass/touch bit of the iPhone will mean it'll likely be a thinner device. Hopefully lighter too. I didn't think I'd want to upgrade my iPad after a year but you never know lololol.

<Looks at not-old iPad 3>

Little bit surprised and sad about the iPad refresh. Can't say I'm sad about not having the new connector, but the new CPU has come sooner than I expected.

Yeah it's surprised me too. I'm also confused by their naming scheme now. Calling it "iPad with Retina Display" seems a bit moronic since the previous generation iPad's biggest feature was a "Retina Display". It'll just confuse people.
