ocuk 3700 san diego why 20 quid difference

hi all

looking for a cheap upgrade option i see the 3700 san diego proccy at 61 quid for the oem but retail is 81 why is there such a price difference is there any other differences you guys know of ie stepings or anything that you can shed some light on

yes, you can always overclock the 3700 but you can't replace the missing cache on the 3800. Both will probably overclock to about 2.8GHz anyway. ;)
 
got one of the oem 3700 sandys from here a few weeks ago the stepping on cpu-z says its :

family : F
ext family : F
model : 7
ext model: 27
stepping : 1
revision : SH-E4

hope that helps btw the artic cooling freezer 64 cooler is very nice and only costs 16 pounds :)

Got a 3700+ a few weeks ago and currently running 3gig stable at 1.55v and 28/48 idle/load temps.

Thats with the rather quiet arctic cooler as was. Much better ooption than the retail pack.

Who honestly uses a 3 year CPU warantee? I mean, it either works on day 1 or it's faulty and if you kill it overclocking your a numpty :D
