Thinking about it the core probably clocked around the same with the stock HSF, but it got really hot with high shaders. Just gave me the HeBeGebees, so didn't push too hard. I think the memory does suffer from the stock cooler, heat soaks back into them from the core. Its at the point now, with classic freeze screens, where the core needs more volts. Its going in another rig soon, so not modding it, I'm seriously tempted though.

See you're looking at the Duorb. Cracking cooler works a treat.

Yeah, hope i get it, looks funky too :) What load temps were you getting in 3D06 at those clocks ?

50's in 06, the ozone3d bench is the killer app for heat.

When you get it, a tip. This will make sense when you see the instructions. I put the plastic washers that are supposed to be on the back on the other side, the chip side. I found the way its assembled on the diagram started to stress/bend the card too much, just packs the screws out enough for a solid clamp.

What temps did you get with the fur bechmark?

Do the Ram sinks stick ok with the pads they come with ?

Have you upped the voltage on your card with a bios flash to those clocks or are they with normal voltage. Is there a guide anywhere for this ?

They come with proper Shinetsu thermal tape, give the chips a good scrub with IPA to get surface coating off, the'll stick all right.

wahoh pushing the 6300 to 3.31ghz has pushed me up a little, time for a new cooler on the 8800gt and get that over 750mhz on the core..

Currently at 12839 aim i think is 13200 i think that doable. If i had a quad i recon i'd easily be into the 15000s
 
Well got my BFG OC and it's a bit of a lemon

Max oc is 742/1782:(/950:(

Shaders bomb past 1782 which if linked is 720 on the core.

Artifacts all over the place once memory goes past 950 so I can't even run at 1000 even if I wanted to risk it. Guess I got a bad batch of ram chips or at least one.

Well new score is 10453 (updated it btw) up 4% from my old score of 10045 with my 8800GTS 320Mb. A bit disappointing really as I was expecting a bigger increase especially with the high overclock.

I'm hoping the real game results give better than a 4% increase over my GTS otherwise I will wish I had kept it and never swapped.
 
i only got 9161 with my 8800 GT but I think my cpu is holding me back, i still have it at stock and was getting 0 fps on that cpu test with the fortress and the little robot things

might put a bit of safe overclocking on tomorrow (asus board has safe OC upto 20%) just to see what score i get at 2.5 meg instead of the 2.1 stock
