4.6ghz actually, but meh, what's a few hundred megahertz between forumites. :D

After a few days of head scratching I finally have this system prime stable, so in a day or two I'll be attemping to update all my results with a couple of 4.8ghz runs. I just need to give my head a rest first though as I'm sick of the sight of the bios.

I got a new best last night after swapping out the e8600 and going back to the e8500 .

I might wait a couple months and get another 8600 because my first one just got to hot when over clocking .

[email protected] on 1.600vcore @ 66c maxed out on air and idles at 32c

http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=8154691

I went from 16 place to 9th .

I couldn't get temps anywhere as good as that with a 120.3 loop for the cpu only.. strange.

I idle at 38 with 1.42v and 59-60 on load with prime with e8500.

Does anyone with watercooling here get temps like that?

The 8600 clocked to [email protected] would idle at 47 and go up to 74 under load . this chip is not like others 8600s ive seen , bad overclocking chip imo .

The 8500 clocked to 4.5 @ 1.600v idles at 32 and maxed out gets up to 66 .

Thats why i put the 8600 in one of the shop computers and run it at stock clocks and voltage and it still idles at 37-38c .

It works fine at stock clocks but hates being volted .

Maybe the sensor isn't right in the e8500, i can't see any chip idling at 32 with 1.6v... who knows.

Those temps seem about 20c out.

I'm glad i didn't go for an e8600 now.
