OcUK AMD reference cards

Its a shame the AMD Ref cards the 6xxx time round especially the 6x50 cards are really well built and superbly packaged.
AMD finally got it's act together in that regard. The crappy blower coolers they used for years right up until the Radeon VII and 5000 series really hurt their image IMO as a manufacturer of quality GPU's (I know they eventually got replaced by better AIB models but you have to wait a month or two for them to arrive after initial launch).

it wont be coming back, why have a walk in store when you can just ship everything from a warehouse
tbh iv been a walk-in. in that store more than I have bought online. even though now I live in Northampton. been shopping with them since they were in the Imex Business park in Fenton many many moons ago

never been but i imagine it shut during covid and its not worth the cost of opening it back up

That's a shame Gibbo when did it close? are there any plans to reopen it in future or is it gone for good?

When we move to our new building we may open up a collection counter but there won’t be a showroom to browse any more but it’s only a maybe, our main focus is getting into the new building once that is done and all stock and departments are relocated we can maybe consider it.

Yeah I can't see a 'showroom' being viable anymore on a cost basis, but a collect counter and an RMA dropoff would be of great benefit to us localites!!! :)

This is just my thoughts; but I've always wanted a store to have a demo front that showcases the difference between Air, Water and Custom Water differences in terms of noise, etc. As everyone hears things differently, as well as have different budgets and considerations. But if a showcase room can allow me to listen to such components in action, it would certainly sway me to consider certain (more appropriate) parts more. Just by going "This component is 34dba" means squat in most cases, and would reduce the need to make swaps (after bad purchases) if things don't go right as things will have been got right from the get go (for those who can arrive to check it out). But that's just my thoughts on that.

Everything is still on for Tuesday 13th right? :D
