OcUK Beers of the World Weekly Results - America

Ah, the bitter irony: the off-licence I bought mine from also had a different Goose Island beer, but I went for the IPA cause the guy told me it was harder to get! :p If I'd gone for the other one it would've been a 3-pointer!

Aye, and then the IPA would have been a 2 pointer for me and Mike :p

As I said the points system does not reflect the quality of the beer!

Whilst it would be nice to take into account 'quality' in the scoring system, there wouldn't be a way to do it as you can't really measure it.
I think the point of this competition is to get people to drink beers that they wouldn't normally do, if that is a beer that isn't seen as a very good one then so be it. At least it's different!

Of course all of my beers will be very high quality. ;)

Given the shortage of time I had after seeing the original thread I went with the one of the few options in my local Tesco, either Miller, Bud, or Coors and plumped with the Miller.

The first bottle had a chemically aftertaste to it that most mass-produced lagers have these days, but the next bottles had dulled that sensation. Nothing special, just an average lager.

5/10

Damn you jokester, there was me thinking miller was that common no one would bother with it lol
And to think I almost took Coors :/

Indeed! And my point is not a criticism of the scoring system but something to bear in mind when choosing your beer!

Na, folk can join whenever they want I believe (or should be able to!).

I'll let DJ send you the email though, so you'll have to wait until he's put down the Harp and gets on here. :p

Can I join too please? Off on a drinking trip for for days so should be fun.

By all means, though this is based over the next 25 (including today) weeks. You need to have a read at the rules here:

... I'll send you the competition email address via Trust and once you get it can you confirm your entry by sending a message to it please. This weeks choice is Belgium.

EDIT: Sent you the email address :)
