*****OcUK Benchmark Results from ATI HD 69xx Series*****

I can see it now, queues of people eager for their 69XX cards walking on the OcUk red carpet as they enter the store. Spie sits at the other end of the shop on his throne surveying his empire with Gibbo signing autographs and having pics taken for the papers; folk shaking his hand with tears of joy streaming down their faces. Squabbles breaking out over who gets to lay their hands on the OcUk burger. :D

thas a massive 5609 gpu points faster and the cards are 9 months old

diffrent benchmarks need to be run because imo they used heven bench as thats the only thing these cards were good at

Its not looking like domination from here unless things dramatically change overnight, both overclocked 6950 and GTX470 seem to be running the top dogs close and the 470s are "old" tech.
 
As I have said before 6970 is a bit fail at £279 quid.
Doesnt quite beat 570gtx which is £250 and it doesnt come close to 580.

£220 for a 6950 is a good price for xfire and could be a good little gem when OC.
 
We now see the real reason these cards are late etc etc.

wasn't due to the fact that there was a component shortage, more like a performance shortage.

So where are all these people at who claim these cards was going to be 30 to 40% quicker than a 580...

I am awaiting some game benchmarks, a GTX 570 beating a 6970 is going to be interesting, I assume that you have more details on what games it is getting beaten in? Please share.

Also fail @279? At least £120 less than a GTX 580, how many percent behind is it? 15-20%? £40 per 5% worth it?

He is still here. LOL. His "contact" apparently doesnt know the difference between a 6950 Xfire and 6970 single card.

I still believe that he fished those numbers out of a dream.

But what makes it even more amazing is that some ppl actually believed him.
Whos the bigger fool? A Fool? or a fool following a fool?

I've seen people with GTX470 SLI w/ 800MHz OC on 263.xx getting ~95fps at 1920x1200, no AA, normal tessellation.

Your right just found and old bench scoring 92 fps and 2132 so these latest drivers suck tbh.
 
To be fair, a lot of people believed the early 1536SP leaks were the 6950 (some even suggested 6930 lol), a 1920SP 6970 based on that performance would easily have been in the 30-40% faster than GTX580 catagory.

I wouldn't say suck, they are the only thing that makes Black Ops playable for me, they also seem to bias on quality over performance in quite a few things - probably due to being Quadro drivers I do see an increase in IQ in some stuff.

My Heaven 2.1 scores are a bit mixed tho, they give better min fps on the first run and good extreme tessellation performance compared to other drivers I've tried but don't seem so hot at normal tessellation.
