Good example, when I put the GTX780 on Saturday with the FX, it was averaging around 65-70 fps on WOT. Not much improvement over the 7950. (couldn't OC the FX back to 5Ghz though)
After installing the 4820K on Monday, it very rarely drops below 80fps hovering at mid 90s all the time with 125+ fps on sniper more. (100-105 before). (everything maxed out and turned on AA).
Valley on Extreme was giving me 20.4fps min , 134.6fps max with total score 2742 (1293 core boost, 7044 Ram)

Now, with the 4820K at 4799, with lower overclock (1267 boost, 7204 vram) I get 35.1min fps, 138.7 max, score 3130. However cannot get the GPU core back to the same speed as with the FX.

To see why, went to my colleague who got the FX, plugged it on, went to 1293 again without issue.
Nothing else has changed on the settings.
In addition, Rome 2 is playable now, not even with the 2 7950s (before patch 5 when CF was supported) had see such perfomance. 78-90fps with everything maxed out (not AA) in battles with ultra settings.
As for the CPU temps, is running IBT with no more than 62C now (had to reapply paste because it hit 72C on two cores). However even if I read the X79 guide, I am still baffled. I believe there is more to get out of that CPU, however some of the gazillion of settings is holding me back. Is not as simple to overclock as an FX.
