Afternoon Guys.

An idea came to me this afternoon at work. The OcUK forums has a very large userbase and a fair number of users here build rigs for gaming. Some are even adventurous enough to go to Lan Partys to kick ass all in the name of quality OcUK merchandise :D

Anyway, my idea....
With such a large userbase, imagine the damage we could do to the gaming world if we all banded together to form an OcUK clan! Fragging in as many games as possible, all in the name of OcUK :D Stick that in your pipe and smoke it!

Just guaging interest really atm. How many people would be interested in joining an OcUK clan? Feel free to post any top games you would be interested im playing. If there is enough interest, then we'll probably get a website set-up and a couple of servers for the top games.

Keep Fragging!

Count me in :)

Counterstrike: Source
Half-Life 2: Deathmatch
Day of Defeat: Source
Battlefield 2

Go go go...

I didnt think OCUK had set clans, more of a case of "so and so in BF2 wants a game against us, who wants to play??"

We have http://www.oc-ps.co.uk/ which seems only really to be used for EVE at the moment.

I would, however be up for some Clan action, pretty much most games out there.

I would start with just a couple of games like COD1 and CSS, then add more games slowly like BF2 as they are more advanced its harder to get people to fill individual roles like pilots/medics etc.

I'll be up for it:
FEAR Free Multiplayer
Call of Duty 2
FarCry
Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast
Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy
Counter Strike: Condition Zero (i've never played this online but I know it has online capability)

Edit: Although i've always thought of clans being "nerdy", not worth it and a waste of time I like the sound of
[OcUK]eXSBass

;)

I've seen a couple of people with an [OcUK] tag in Battlefield 2. I was wondering if it's just a way of recognising eachother, or if it's a real Battlefield 2 clan.

I use it in BF2, I believe it's just to recognise each other. I have never seen (or played along side) any others from here though.

Before 1.3, basically when BF2 was stable we had several OcUK V 50K games.

I was part of an awful lot, call it twice daily 8 OcUK people on a server in a squad etc.

Died down since 1.3 but there are OcUK taged players in just about all the multiplayer games.

Using the OcUK part is ok, but logo and being affliated to the shop is not. Its a good idea but the structure of the forums and the huge variety of games we play makes making a specific all in one clan almost impossible to make.

So you would say it is okay for I and a friend of mine (Slyvester) to use the [OcUK] tag on Battlefield 2 ranked servers as a means of identifying with other forum members who play the game? There would be no organised gaming nor any website or usage of the logo.

I want to make sure I am definitely not treading on the feet of an existing and organised group before I even consider it. :)

Well, there was another ocuk css clan aswell, which is why we changed to tocuk..

That was before we wernt allowed to advertise clans (even our one made from ocuk members) on the forum.. bit of a stab in the back for the team who just wanted ocukers to have a go at playing some competitive css..

AFAIK they are still going.. even without me.. :p

Actually i remember seeing a clan several months ago now that played about 10 different games, some members played several while others only played one. I was asked to join but i cant remember what they are called!

Also, i doubt Spie would mind a bunch of people using his company logo as their logo, its free advertising, to other gamers, just the people that he wants to attract to his shop. Of course, i personally would check with Spie BEFORE i used any of them. :)

I vote for a sticky by a member of the OcUK forum staff clearly outlining the terms by which using an [OcUK] tag is or is not allowed in online gaming. :)

I used to run a OcUK UT2004 clan which consisted of forum members. We used the [OcUK] tag and often got asked if we were an 'official' clan associated with the shop. It did get annoying after a while and at one point we got hassle from a few people who had a few problems with OcUK.

We considered changing the name at one point. :(

We were told we could use the tag provided we stated we were nothing to do with the shop.

i think the ocuk ET clan has deminished now. The CSS clan is still going, just currently inactive because of summer at the moment.
