i did say you didnt need a lot of volts for 5.0-2 ghz :) * scratch that, seems to be luck of the draw with some review needing 1.45v for 5.2ghz vs wothers with 1.38v...

though the loads it puts on VRM is quite high

Basically, if you don't have a 2080ti or two, it's a bit of a waste to spend the money on this CPU, because the associated costs are also very high (mobo, cooling).

I know they retested but really not sure how PI can look at themselves in the mirror, Intel's arrogance marches on.

Beast of a CPU though!

I know it's an Intel video but I'm amazed Hardware Canucks didn't managed to slip in something about Nvidia being the greatest company in the world and the 2080Ti being the best value card ever you must buy 2.

Now we know why they went back to solder. Without it they'd have to clock them at least 200MHz slower to stay under thermal limits. Intel better hope 10nm is ready next year, because they're not getting anything else from 14nm.

Looks to be a great upgrade over my 5820K, although the MSRP being $530, and seeing it listed here for over £600 is a little disheartening. Especially when you through in the Mobo, and RAM.

CPU looks like it'll be fine at stock, or 5Ghz all core on my NH-D15s.

Hopefully there are some nice 8Pack and OcUK upgrade bundle deals soon. Wouldn't mind snagging on then, with decent mobo and some 8Pac 3600Mhz RAM.
