The worst thing about this place is the '70's blue colour scheme! It's not even a nice blue. I have changed to the black using Stylish in Firefox as the OP suggested.

Why not just enable more themes on the forum software so anyone can pick what they want?
That plugin is useless for me if I use IE7 (which for me works better due to mouse gestures plugin in firefox not working like I want it) or Chrome (for speed, and it's much quicker than FF).

You clearly don't understand the concept of a voting system. Under your thinking, photo finishes should be banned since the winner won't have won by enough.
I think the poll clearly shows that a large number of people would like the black.
However, a large number still want it to remain blue.
Therefore, the best scenario is to add the black as a user-configurable option, something which can be done very easily on a vBulletin forum, and then both parties are going to be happy
