OcUK Computer Keeps Crashing

Hi all,

I've recently bought a computer from OcUK but it crashes atleast once per day (BSODs and/or locks). I'm not complaining, the computer is great. I'd just like to figure out whether it's the overclock on the processor (Q6600 clocked at 2.85... should've been 3+

)

I don't suppose anyone could look through the Nvidia SysLog file please and come back with suggestions?

It was this one.

But I bought it about 2/3 weeks ago when it was the Asus Striker Extremem Mobo and cost ~£1,600... should've waited

TBH, I dont think OCUK do any sort of stress testing, instead just have a set overclock, eg; E6600 - 3GHz - 1.45. Best just to set it all to default and overclock it yourself.

I trust these guys. If all else fails I'll probably do this.

It is CRUCIALLY important that you find the BIOS version. e.g. "1303", "1305" etc.

Didn't work. More often than not it wouldn't even POST. I got a freeky file checksum error, I'm glad I did it just to see that gem of a message.

I'll just get you the BIOS version.

Right. Got everything working now. Made all the changes you specified, except FSB = 1267 and Mem = 800. Everything was set to what you specified. For some reason, my system is unstable (won't even POST sometimes) when I set FSB to 1333 for 3GHz. Any reason why this would be?

I'm just going to have a game with some mates at the moment. I don't suppose we could do this on here? Purely for documentation purposes for other people. Also, I'm wierd with randomly adding people I've never met... does that sound sad and introverted?

Yeah, I installed the 1303 BIOS update. I've updated all the settings you suggested, but it was still very unstable so I set used the settings but set the FSB=1267 and Mem.Clock=800.

When I set the FSB to 1333 for 3GHz my PC becomes really unstable and sometimes doesn't boot. Could it be because I'm not setting the Mem.Clock as well? Any ideas?

Just set FSB to 1333 and just as I was typing a reply it crashed.

I've double cheked everything. CPU temps are at 40c idle. Any advice?

Just been playing for about 30 minutes and hasn't crashed yet... *crosses fingers*.

If it does, I'll try the 1.5v core and 1.6v SB.

I just changed the FSB to 1333 and the Mem Clock to 800.

Here's a question, how come my memory should be able to do 1066 but I can't only get it to 800 stable?
