OcUK Dadsnet thread

Soo my little version of typhoid Mary has got herself scarlet fever despite being vaccinated.

Work are sending me home from the training course. Too bad it's a 5 hour drive

I recently earned the right to post in this thread :p

'Bowie' was born on 30th Oct at home in a birthing pool. I pulled him from his mother at 12:34 and took great pleasure in being 100% involved in the labour. It really was incredible.

Weighing in at a healthy 8lb 12oz..

Highlight of the day? The cat joining me in coaching her, he almost seems to say to her "get on with it!" below

Despite a perfect home birth, we had to head to hospital to mend mums heavy bleeding but all is well and we're now back home riding the sleepless night train.

Welcome to the party! That's a nice head of hair on him!

Today I have my girl out of nappies for the whole day. So far, one accident.

George is teething now, plus pretty sure he's caught my cold I had last week.

Still not really using his right arm and hand for much though the physio are here every other week for a few hours to work on it.

Not sitting up yet either can support his head now though. Hope he is able to crawl and sit up they would be nice surprises.

Nope, that's his actual name, his mum is a big fan. I managed to talk her out of naming him "Ziggy" so I consider this a good compromise :D

Has anyone else midget been non stop ill for the past 2 months?

First she had flu, then a heart murmur, the her injections gave her scarlet fever And now she's got a bad cold. She was up every hour last night.

Kinda guilty that I'm staying in a hotel tonight

So, my son is now approaching 4 months old.

He has changed so much, I miss the newborn he once was.

I've been back at work since September, and I feel like I have missed so much.

He's such a happy boy, and always awakes with a massive smile.

Fatherhood... Is wonderful

Dude, enjoy every moment you have and don't fret about work. They change so much so quick and they get funnier, sillier and scarily more clever but it's an amazing roller-coaster ride. My boy is 3yrs2m now. He's such a bundle of fun.

Don't worry man, every time something changes and you lose one of the little things (like then being small enough to fall asleep on your chest), you get something new (crawling, walking, talking etc). I feel you though. I get home at 6, and I do bath and bedtime, and really weekends are where I get to interact.

I do get to hear her tell me about her day now though, which is really cool. I get to hear her opinions on things (often hilarious) now she's pretty chatty.

Basically, it stays awesome

I picked up my wife and her best friend, who we call auntie becca, from a hotel yesterday morning and my boy was in the car seat. As soon as they got in the car he clasped his hands and said "so, we need to discuss Christmas auntie becca" it was soo funny. He hadn't mentioned anything about Christmas beforehand.
