***OcUK Diablo 3 Multiplayer Thread***

Came here to ask about this and see the thread has been created!

Veteran D2 player here but stayed away mostly from this apart from the Open Weekend Beta as I wanted to get a small taste for it.

Will post my details later. (When I'm at home!)

Will we be using the OcUK Mumble Server to chat whilst playing the game?

Yeah probably, I'm going to save MP for after I've run through normal with a character (will probably try a couple of characters for a few hours to see who I like the most) but would be good to get some games going after that :)
 
Unfortunately the headset I have at the moment isnt very good at all (just a cheapy one from a while ago!) so I may have to wait until I can afford a decent one! :(
 
Count me in, just bought my self a gaming rig (self build obviously) that should be here tomorrow, allowing me to spend 2 weeks to build it and get it sorted for this :D

No battlenet account as of yet. Nor class choice.

If it helps then I'll put the list in alphabetical order to make certain names easier to find, either that or add options for people to state similar stats (i.e. Levels: 1-9, 10-19, 20-29 etc) upon the games launch to help players find similar skill levels.

Hopefully Blizz will make some kind of profile site that you can view chars and stats on like SC2. If they do it would be awesome to link to them in the OP. We'll have to see.

If they create an API, I might be half tempted to make an OcUK Diablo site if a) people would use it, and b) I find the time. :)

I was kinda under the impression that would be already done/coming very soon anyway. The whole 'profile' thing while in-game on the main menu did seem to lend itself to the idea that there'd be an external link to it somewhere.

Kinda like what Dragon Age: Origins used, only not **** because they thing never actually updated itself.

+1 Here for someone who would use it. :)

I'm completely new to using API's, but if needed I could try and help set it up :)

We'll have to wait and see what gets produced for the game. They've done some tooltip support JS, which would be quite cool to have on a site, but it's less useful if people would have to manually enter what gear they have.

I realized there isn't an official Blizzard SC2 API, but there is a third party one for getting profiles.

If someone made that for Diablo 3, it would be really cool to make an OcUK Diablo site where people can see what gear characters have and the like, but I'm sure it will take a while for anyone to produce an API like that if they even do.

If I have time before D3's release, I might put a site together just for people to share keys like the OP if no-one minds. It would be easier for people to add their own keys, and also search and stuff. Then if anyone does make an API, change it so you can view peoples levels, gear etc.

I don't know if I will find time before D3 though, so I'm not promising anything. And my free time after D3 gets released will be significantly less. :p

I guess we'll just have to wait and see what gets released, also I think you speak for all of us whose time will be reduced to nothing upon Diablo 3's launch. :p
